Yield: 10-12 cake pops
Ingredients
Main Batter:
60g (½ stick) butter
60g (5 tbsp) sugar
120g (½ cup) milk
100g (⅔ cup) all-purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
Chocolate Batter Addition:
1⅓ tsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp milk
For Assembly:
Frosting or spread of choice
Melted chocolate for coating
Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
Making the Cakes:
Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl
Mix in sugar and room temperature milk
Add flour, baking powder, and salt; combine well
Divide batter in half. Pour first half into 2 cups and microwave 1-1:45 minutes
Mix cocoa powder and milk into remaining batter
Pour chocolate batter into 2 cups and microwave 1-1:45 minutes
Assembling Cake Pops:
Cool cakes for 10 minutes, then transfer to a bowl
Add 1-2 tbsp frosting and roll into small balls
Dip sticks in melted chocolate, insert into cake balls
Freeze for 10 minutes
Optional: Thin chocolate with 1 tbsp coconut oil
Dip cake pops in chocolate, add sprinkles, and let dry
Note: Microwave times may vary. Avoid overcooking. Recipe can be doubled for larger batches.
